No accounts. You never sign in or give your name to this site.
Your progress stays on your device. Scores, settings, the name on your report and your teacher's email address are saved only in this browser (local storage). Clearing your browser data or choosing "Clear my progress" removes them.
Reports go only where you send them. "Email to my teacher" opens your own email with the report filled in; nothing is sent until you press Send.
The camera. Fingerspell to the Camera and Sign Numbers to the Camera use your camera only to read your hand, right on your own computer. Nothing is recorded, and no video or pictures are saved or sent anywhere. When a teacher's class app opens the camera, only the score of a Check (which letters or numbers were signed, and how long each took) goes back to that class.
Ads. On asl.cool, the home and results pages may show ads from Google AdSense, set to non-personalized ads only (not based on your interests or browsing). Google may use cookies or similar tools to limit how often an ad repeats, to count views and to stop fraud; visitors in some countries are asked first. Ads never appear during a game or the camera, inside a teacher's class app (ASL Study), in the paid classroom editions, or on a device opened with a class password. Other sites. The shop links (aslstudyhall.com and Teachers Pay Teachers) and the Ko-fi tip link go to other sites with their own privacy rules. Nothing about you is sent when you click them.
Visit counts. This site does not use visit counting or analytics.
